In this case study, you’ll see how we helped a local SEO client rank in the top three on their main keyword in a fairly competitive market within 28 days.
About The Client
The client is a flooring contractor from Georgia. They’ve been in business for a few years, yet they have struggled with local SEO ever since they started. They received some calls from time to time, but as you can see in the ranking map below, it was far from consistent.
Day 1 Data:
Their site and GBP profile are nowhere near the top three on their main keywords, with the best ranking location at position 16, as far as 10 miles from their business.
They averaged 1-2 calls per month from organic traffic, far from enough to sustain a business.

Our Local SEO Plan
Our plan was simple: restructure the GBP and site in a way that signals Google, Bing, and other business directories that the client is the #1 option for users who need a flooring service in the area.
We used the services pages and the service location pages to signal to Google that we’re trustworthy and reliable for clients in our city and its surroundings.
GBP Optimization
The first step is always to get the GMB to reflect the company’s services properly. We analyzed other Google profiles in the client’s area and found places where we can take advantage of gap in their strategy, while collecting some quick wins.
Matching The GBP With The Site
Now that the GBP reflects the business, we are using its structure to determine key pages and create key pages on the website, so both the website and the GMP will strengthen each other’s performance.
Other Local Citations
Most businesses invest effort in launching a Google Business Profile, fewer businesses add Bing Places to the mix, and even fewer bother with any of the other 40+ local directories that are out there.
We took advantage of the competitors’ absence from the other directories to establish ourselves there. This affects the GPB ranking and also provides significant benefits for AI recommendations.
The Results
We made all the above changes throughout the first two weeks of our work with the client. Then, we gave it some time to reach its full effect.
After 14 Days
After 14 days, we observe that the map looks a lot greener, with an average position of 3.5. However, many areas are not included in the three-pack, let alone at the top.

After 28 Days
After 28 days, we completely dominate the map. Out of nowhere, we took over the whole area, all the way to position 1.6

The Bottom Line
From 1-2 calls a month, the client receives 3-4 organic calls every day from his city and from the surrounding towns. They also get AI recommendations all the time, winning more and more jobs.
